K3

Five Day Class

My name is Barbara Davis and I’m a lot like the old woman who lived in the shoe, had so many children I didn’t know what to do. The Lord told me to “raise them” and that’s what I did. He blessed us with Margo, Marla, Matthew, and Mark (all under 5 years time). With His help, they all grew up to become (pretty) great adults. I married my husband Chet 46 years ago and he has been a wonderful man to spend my life with. We raised our children and helped raise many of their friends. Then we were blessed with 11 grandchildren which we both truly enjoy and if all goes well, come Christmas, our first great grandchild will arrive. What a blessing that will be!
I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 10 years old. I have tried to walk with Him everyday. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I can’t imagine life without Him.
Today, I am blessed with 19 three year olds here at The Oaks. Each day brings its own burdens, joys and surprises. I try to accept each with grace.
My favorite book of the Bible is Philippians because it is a book of joy and encouragement. May the peace of God be with each of you during this school year & always.

I am Tihese (Cookie) Haynes, the K3 full day teacher assistant. This will be my third year working for The Oaks. Working here with the three year olds brings such a joy to my heart. I am married to my husband, Andre, and we have three wonderful girls; Tajae has graduated from high school, Cambrie who is in the 2ndgrade and Morgan who is in the K4 class. I am a member of Jericho United Methodist Church, where I assist with the young adult ministry. Summerville has been my home for 9 years. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

My name is Cindy vollertsen.  My husband's name is Todd and we have two children here at The Oaks.  Zachary is in 9th grade and Nichole is in 4rd grade.  This is my third year teaching 1st grade here.  I previously taught 3rd grade here before I moved to Columbia, SC.  I did not want to leave The Oaks, but God had a different plan.  I am so glad it was part of God's plan to bring us back home to The Oaks!

My name is Margie Hoelz and this year I am the 1A assistant teacher.  I have been happily married to William Hoelz, Jr., for almost 20 years.  We have 3 boys, Zach 19, Dylan 13, and Owen 11.  Zach has graduated, but grew up at The Oaks, having spent his 2nd through 8th grades here.  I started volunteering in Zach's classrooms, and as Dylan and Owen grew up and attended school at The Oaks, i spent more time here.  I soon became a regular employee and spent many years assisting in 2nd grade with Mrs. Becky Shipp-White.  I have also assisted in 3rd and 4th grades.  Two years ago, I enjoyed teaching the K3 half-day children and watching them blossom.  I honestly feel that God put me here for a reason.  I am so thankful for the Christian education that my kids are getting here at The Oaks.  Zach was more than prepared for high school after leaving The Oaks, and I am confident that the same teachers will prepare my other boys as well.  I feel blessed to be part of The Oaks familiy.
